Summer's Cool on the Square

On Saturday, August 29, downtown Wilkes-Barre's Public Square was THE PLACE to be! Mayor Thomas M. Leighton and the City of Wilkes-Barre thank everyone who helped to make the inaugural Summer's Cool on the Square event a huge success. Despite intermittent thunderstorms, thousands of people from in and around Wilkes-Barre gathered in the downtown to listen to live music, enjoy activities such as the giant shark slide and grab a bite to eat at one of our many fantastic restaurants.
